Tandin Sangay Wangchuk lives a life with a wide range of jobs. He was a tourist guide, a writer, a tour operator and a hotelier. Now, Sangay settled as a passionate farmer and hospitality advisor at Dhumra Farm Resort, Punakha. What we learnt on our farm is a wonderful experience of sharing, trials, errors and mindfulness on this planet while living with the changing time. We encourage traditional, modern, food forest concept to permaculture farming on our farm.
For Sangay, Dhumra Farm Resort is a sustainable and mindful tourism product model which he wants to share with fellow citizens. Life at Dhumra has become his livelihood, my profession, my purpose on this planet and my passion: as the Japanese would say Ikigai- “A reason for being” … Sangay’s happiness.
Sangay completed his university degree in Economics, Geography, History, English Literature & Dzongkha from Sherubtse College, Bhutan in 1990, travelled around Bhutan, and joined Etho Metho Tours & Treks as a tour guide, the first university graduate to take up tour guiding as a career.
